Your privacy and that of the children in our care is extremely important to us. Data Protection and the GDPR – January 2021
As the UK transitional arrangements expired on 31 December 2020, there are some practical changes for Data Protection and the GDPR.
To comply with the Data Protection, Privacy and Electronic Communications (Amendments etc) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 please note that every policy, notice and procedural guide that refers to ‘GDPR’ shall now be read as ‘UK GDPR’.
The rights, responsibilities and data protection that the Data Protection Act 2018 and the GDPR are not changed. Our procedures and arrangements will not change.

It is important that you read the relevant Privacy Notices (see 'Policy Documents' together with any updates we may provide on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing personal data about you so that you are fully aware of how and why we are using your data.
When you contact us via the website, email or phone or other means, you are providing us with consent to forward parts or the whole of your communication to individuals within the Success Academy Trust and/or its member schools in order to respond to the communication. We will continue to process your information under this basis until you withdraw consent, it is determined your consent no longer exists, or the information is no longer needed. Information may be shared with external parties, in accordance with the appropriate Privacy Notices, below.
We use cookies on this website to provide you with a better user experience. We do this by placing a small text file on your device / computer hard drive to track how you use the website, to record or log whether you have seen particular messages that we display, to keep you logged into the website where applicable, to display relevant adverts or content, referred you to a third party website.
We have appointed an external Data Protection Officer (DPO), John Walker, who is responsible for overseeing/supporting questions in relation to GDPR and Trust Policy. In addition, within each Academy of the Trust, the local School Business Manager acts as the local Data Protection Manager (DPM) for any general data protection/ GDPR enquires/ SARs etc in the first instance.
